Lemonade, the HBO special, was home to a number of high-powered cameos. Those cameos included Eric Garner and Trayon Martin’s mothers, Zendaya, poems by Warsan Shire, and twerking by one of the greatest athletes of all-time in any sport, Serena Williams. Serena has been known to bust a move or two, especially after she’s throttled anyone who dared to stand in her way on the tennis court. On the HBO special though, she traded in her crip-walking for twerking next to Beyonce. It was an undoubtedly cool moment as two of the most powerful black women in the world were side-by-side being free in all of their black girl-ness.

Serena, talking to the Washington Post, elaborated on what made her want to join up with the Queen Bey and her relationship with the director of Lemonade.

Williams’ involvement in the video goes beyond just Beyoncé, as it turns out the tennis superstar has a strong relationship with the video’s director as well. “I have known the director [Dikal Rimmasch] since I was like nine years old. I know Beyonce pretty well, so they were like, ‘We would love for you to be in this particular song. It’s about strength and it’s about courage and that’s what we see you as.'”

We see you, Serena.
