Lisa Marie-Presley has reportedly checked into rehab seeking treatment for a serious addiction to prescription pills. Presley has been open about her trouble with addiction in the past telling Paper Magazine in 2003, “[I used] cocaine, sedatives, pot, and drinking – all at the same time. I just couldn’t be sober.” Adding, “I don’t know how I lived through it.”
A source close to Presley told UsWeekly that the music scion has been struggling with prescription painkillers as of late, saying, “She’s doing OK but needed to get this under control.”
It’s unclear when her addiction began but problems were likely made worse following the heartbreak and stress resulting from the divorce from her husband of more than a decade, Michael Lockwood.
Presley has reportedly checked into the exclusive Hills Treatment Center in Los Angeles, which costs $400,000 a month.
It’s good to hear that she is getting the treatment she needs, hopefully it does its part in helping her lead a healthier and safer life.
