Within this week our world has felt one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in present times. Haiti has the 3rd highest poverty levels in the western hemisphere. It’s a real shame that something of this proportion had to occur in order for the world to finally see the importance of aiding our fellow man.
I really admire Wyclef not only for his patriotism, pride, and love for his country but his overall love of people in general.
We as a people have to unite and have compassion for each other. We have to offer something to these people. Whether it’s a few dollars, food, clothing, a prayer… Something. We have to give these people a sense of hope, a helping hand and compassion. My heart goes out to all the ailing families all over the world trying to find their loved ones.
And to end my entry, for the rest of the year and for the rest of our lives we should all take the time to notice needs of of another, not wait for a disaster to occur.
