After keeping mum on the subject, Oprah finally opened up about her dear friend Paula Deen and the racist controversy that lost her endorsement deals and tarnished her reputation. With arms wide open, Oprah announced that her doors are always open to Paula and that she wishes she’d come on her show to talk things out.
“I think Paula Deen was sort of used as a symbol, but I think lots of people use the word inappropriately all the time,” Oprah said during a revealing interview on Entertainment Tonight Monday.
With her upcoming movie role in The Butler, Oprah makes it known that she has been fighting and facing racism her entire life. And because of her experiences, she wants to hear what Paula has to say for herself.
“I just really want to know what happened,” said Winfrey.
