Google is taking New York Fashion Week to a new level for our viewing pleasure.

Nina Garcia, the affectionately real judge on Project Runway and Marie Claire creative director, is going to share New York’s coveted Fashion Week through her eyes – literally. The fashion aficionado is teaming up with Google for the “Be Nina” initiative, where she’ll wear the high-tech Google Glass in order to share the chic Fashion Week chaos with her massive amount of followers via Twitter, Instagram and Vine.

Since Garcia is also the first editor to cover NYFW from this perspective, the photo and video insights caught from Lincoln Center will be displayed on the Marie Claire website as well.

Check out what Garcia had to say about donning the high-tech specs:

“I’m not going to say it came so easily,” she said.

“Usually I have lots of devices during fashion week. Google Glass Expedition is controlled by your voice or a tap of your finger. It’s a very different device than the iPhone. It’s like wearing a little computer,” she said. “It’s a hands-free experience which is kind of liberating. I can go to a show and just be and not be looking down at my iPhone all the time.”

And her only qualms about the device:

“The battery time only lasts for one or two hours so you have to reboot. You know fashion week is never a one- or two-hour day — it’s more like 12 hours.”

We surely can’t wait to view the Fashion Week antics through the eyes of Nina!
