Nicki Minaj is one of the most innovative people in hip-hop. She would never bite anyone. Right?

Don’t tell that to Clive Tanaka. Clive is an underground Chicago-based musician who just filed a lawsuit against the rap superstar, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Clive claims that Nicki borrowed sections of his 2011-song “Neu Chicago” for her super smash hit “Starships.”

The question is, how would Nicki and, more importantly, “Starship’s” producers RedOne, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, be able to hear about such an obscure song?

Clive’s people have a theory. According to the suit, RedOne and Minaj’s collaborators were living in Sweden around the time “Neu Chicago” was being played in commercials.

Interesting.

Nicki has not yet responded to the allegations. Listen to “Starships” and “Neu Chicago” below and tell us if you hear a resemblance.
