Looks like YouTube is getting into the awards game!

The online video platform will be launching its first-ever music awards show, and to set things off right, performances will include some heavy hitters like Lady GagaEminem and Arcade Fire. The show will be 90-minutes in duration, and take place at Pier 36 in New York.

It’ll present winners for six award categories – which will be announced in October – determined from viewer votes.

“We’re trying to create live videos during the award shows so that the experience becomes more about creating than presenting,” YouTube’s vice president of marketing, Danielle Tiedt said. “Music is our bread and butter and our heart and soul here at YouTube. Our main goal is to not just do another award show. We wanted to do something special.”

Yeah, we have a feeling the YouTube Music Awards show will be something special.

The inaugural event is scheduled for November 3rd.
