The word street style has long become synonymous with fashion bloggers being snapped on the street in clothing they were paid to “advertise,” but when we say it, we mean it quite literally. Style, while walking on the street.

The definition of a celebrity’s personal style isn’t how polished they look after sitting with a glam squad, being styled by professionals and prepping for a red carpet, it’s about what they have on when they think nobody is looking. What they’re wearing when they’re landing in airports, walking the kids to school, or simply caught out to dinner with some friends.

Sure, we’re well aware that they may be styled for the day-to-day, but there’s something so refreshing about a messy bun, red lips, and a good ol’ pair of flats. Check out our ladies, from L.A. to NY and back, who are the masters of street style in our adoring eyes.

Miranda Kerr

Miss Kerr has been known to work it on the runway, but when the former Angel took off her wings and hit the sidewalks, she’s always dressed to absolute perfection in clean lines, fitted jackets, and cute flats. Whether she is snapped landing at LAX, or spotted running the streets with her baby boy Flynn in tow, Miranda’s street style is always fun, practical and fitted to perfection.

Personal Style: Miranda is a mom on the go, so it’s pretty rare to see her in heels with unrealistic heights or revealing clothing. She keeps it chic, yet kid friendly and fuss-free.

Her Best Accessory: Baby Flynn and those adorable chubby cheeks, of course!

Gwen Stefani

For as far back as we can remember, the No Doubt frontwoman’s style has always had us feeling “Hella Good,” but as Gwen slipped into life as a mommy and a wife, her style changed a bit – without being anywhere near matronly. The braces and spiked hair were swapped out with updated rock star pieces that always involve a bold lip and a killer pair of shoes. From the park to kiddie parties, Gwen’s got it down.

Personal Style: Gwen’s another one with two babies and one on the way, so her looks are typically no fuss, just damn good layering.

Her Best Accessory: It’s rare that we see this hot mom without a killer matte red lip and a pair of sick sunglasses.

Olivia Palermo

We may not have been her biggest fan when she took on the personality of the office mean girl in Whitney Port’s life on the “reality” show The City, but the real world Olivia is totally the girl we would want to get to know at the nail salon. Her style is the epitome of NYC chic and her ability to nail it every time is admirable, especially when she’s strutting the streets.

Personal Style: She’s a city slicker, who knows about keeping it clean in neutrals while always keeping the hair and makeup perfectly polished.

Her Best Accessory: That crowning glory of hers. A single tendril is never out of place.

Ashley Madekwe

Known better as the all-too-eager PR girl on the rise, Ashley, from the ABC show Revenge, the real life Ashley Madekwe is a London girl living in L.A. with “more shoes than sense,” if you let her bio on her personal blog tell it. The actress is an L.A. implant, but she has mastered the city’s “less is more” vibe when it comes to her look. She’s newer to the style scene, but the gal knows a thing about keeping it simple in boyfriend jeans and leather jackets, all topped off with a red lip and a perfect mane.

Personal Style: Laid back with touches of glam.

Her Best Accessory: That girl knows a few things about pairing the perfect pump with dresses and pants.
