Who doesn’t love a conceptualized future?
After unveiling a 20-second teaser, Janelle Monae delivers the stylized visuals to “PrimeTime,” her lovely duet with Miguel off her latest album, The Electric Lady. But this is not your typical boy-meets-girl romantic encounter.
On her YouTube channel, Janelle Monae wrote:
“’Primetime’ is a love story based on the early adventures of Cindi Mayweather (Janelle Monáe) and her first love Joey Vice (Miguel),” said Janelle of the Alan Ferguson-directed clip. “The Emotion Picture gives a glimpse at Cindi’s humble beginnings as a ‘cyber-server’ at the Electric Sheep nightclub, a syn bar serving high-class ‘show droids’ to the rich and lonely in a dangerous section of Metropolis known as Slop City.”
Janelle Monae will be heading out on The Electric Tour on October 13th.
