The state Senate has passed a bill legalizing gay marriage in Hawaii, which means weddings and honeymoons are just a hop, skip and jump away for same-sex couples. The new legislation will allow thousands of gay couples living in Hawaii and even more tourists to marry in the state starting Dec. 2. Congratulations! [AP]

So this happened. An English man who opened the lid of a container labeled “Pandora’s Box” died shortly afterwards. Authorities are baffled by the death of Jason Aiery, 37, who was found dead in his Carlisle, Cumbria bedroom in May. A post-mortem showed Jason’s heart had stopped beating, causing his organs to fail, but medical examiners aren’t even sure why that happened. Washington twins, 17-year-old Janeah and Janesah Goheen of Oak Harbor, were killed on Halloween after 53-year-old Ira Blackstock crossed the center line on Highway 20 in his Mustang and slammed into their car. Police discovered that Blackstock was impaired and discovered a Bible and an Alcoholics Anonymous pamphlet in the backseat of his car. He remains in jail. [Gawker]
