Fergie is used to receiving standing ovations when she performs with The Black Eyed Peas, but nowadays, it’s her new bundle of joy that seems to be getting all the attention.

According to the “Glamorous” crooner, the inspiration for her son’s name, Axl Jack, came to her via a dream. Fergie, 38, sat down with Ellen DeGeneres recently, and dished on how she and hubby Josh Duhamel came up with the eccentric moniker.

“I had this dream and I was in the audience at this festival. It was outdoors and it was all grimy and nobody knew who I was.”

“On stage singing was Jim Morrison and then came Bob Marley and then Axl Rose. I was in heaven in this dream and I’m dancing and just getting into the music.”

The concert experience was soon brought to a halt when her son decided to kick to the beat of his own drum – literally.

“It was the first time my son kicked me in the stomach and it was like he was feeling the music with me. It was really beautiful and I woke [my husband] Josh [Duhamel] up and I said, ‘Honey, honey, honey, he kicked me. He finally kicked me.’”

As the expectant mama shared her dream with Josh, the duo decided to brainstorm on potential names. With the middle name already chosen, the two played with different variations.

“I told the story and he was like, ‘Morrison? Marley? No. Axl Jack. That’s it!’ It just had this ring to it. It was very strong.”

The couple’s 3-month-old son Axl Jack entered the world in true rock star form, putting on quite the performance after being delivered via C-section:

“I see Josh and he’s going ‘Aww,’ and he’s giving the faces and I’m going, ‘Wow, I’m so happy. This moment, it’s so special, so tender. I hear screaming … and over the side comes Axl and he’s screaming at me, crying and I went, ‘Okay, the name works!’”

We must admit: Axl Jack is one badass name.
