Last night, a crowd of the city’s street and lifestyle trailblazers, media and sneakerheads gathered at Reed Space in the Lower East Side for the launch of a capsule collection by Manhattan originals, PONY and Rothco.

The night kicked off with a panel discussion curated by Reed Space and Staple Design founder Jeff Staple, with PONY founder Roberto Muller and Darin Kaye of ROTHCO – the conversation centered around what it meant to be a real New Yorker and the originality and authenticity of both brands.

After the presentation, tastemakers from the street, sneaker and fashion crowd streamed in to dance to beats by DJ Vashtie, enjoy a food truck on Allen Street by Crif Dogs, down refreshments from Brooklyn Brewery, and to get a first look at the collection available exclusively at Reed Space, NYC. The capsule line focuses on a unique military-inspired jacket, backpack and boots. PONY worked with ROTHCO to create a sneaker boot for the first time in their 40 year history. Adding another level of personality to the gear, the Staple Design team has upgraded the jacket and tactical package with removable patches that pay homage to both brands.
