We’re rendering a verdict here: culottes are cool again.
To be honest, when we first saw them on the Spring 2014 runways (see: Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Emporio Armani), we questioned the return of the skirt-like piece that are too long to be shorts and too short to be pants. Now enter Zendaya.
She’s the most stylish teen on the scene–there’s no contest there. And last night, she attended the Los Angeles premiere of Blended, and made an impressionable case for the wide-leg cropped capris.
The singer/actress wore hers paired with a matching boxy blazers while baring her taut tummy. She went with the wet look for her hair, slicking it back behind her shoulders, and finished off her look with a nude lip, smokey eye and eyeliner.
But back to those bottoms: They’re not your grandma’s go-to pants anymore. On Z, they’re very fashion forward, right?
