After being the center of controversy for weeks, Donald Sterling has reportedly given in and surrendered his ownership of the L.A. Clippers to his estranged wife. The billionaire decided to sell his share of the team to Shelly Sterling for the price of $1 billion, so that he would not be forced out of losing ownership by the NBA. When asked about the sale, he told the press that he has “no comment.” [NY Daily News]
A young Oakland girl has been paralyzed from the neck down after being hit with a stray bullet, and adding to that sad fact is it all occurred just two days before her 9th birthday. Jacqueline Fuentes was struck with the bullet while playing outside with her younger brother in front of their home, and may never walk again. Her mother revealed that she will undergo intense therapy, and hopes that she may at least regain the ability to use her arms and hands. [KTVU]
A New York man has been presumed dead after stripping off his clothes, and jumping into the Harlem River… after placing an urn at the bank of the river. The man, who has yet to be identified, was seen carrying a bouquet of flowers and talking to himself before making a naked jump into the river. A witness revealed that he had intentions of taking his own life, and was attempting to hold his face under the water. [Daily Mail]
