And just like that, another Cannes Film Festival has come and gone. For the past two weeks, the biggest names in the biz all gathered to celebrate some of the most buzzworthy movies of the year, but let’s be real–it was really all about our favorite F-word: fashion.

The festival was filled with plenty of photo ops, photo calls, and fashion-frenzied red carpets, and we’ve kept you au courant on the who-what-wear of it all, but now that the frockathon is all over, it’s time to talk the top 10 trends we saw as the stars pulled out all the sartorial stops in southern France.

From lots of leg to bits of boob, see them all after the jump before we say au revoir to the fashion fête–until next year, at least.

Fuss and Feathers

Several leading ladies were plucked to perfection while posing at the premieres. Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore did it in Chanel, while Freida Pinto was all ruffled up in Michael Kors.

Luxe Lace

There were yards upon yards of lace in Cannes. For example, Israeli socialite Hofit Golan looked as though it was glued to her, Karlie Kloss was draped in it, and Nicole Kidman piled it (along with every other shiny embellishment a craft store carries) on thick in her Armani Privé gown.

Shimmer Down

And speaking of shiny things, the flash of the paparazzi bulbs weren’t the only thing shining bright on the red carpets. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Selita Ebanks were on their finest model behavior and glimmering in glamorous getups, but Cara Delevingne decided to forgo the floor-length look for a Chanel Couture mini dress. What a rebel that one is.

Lounging Around

Who says you have to choose between comfort and couture? Kristen Stewart had the best of both worlds in a Chanel jumpsuit–with the tennies to match–but Kylie Minogue practically wore her pajamas, like, the whole time.

Peek-A-Boob

A little skin ain’t never hurt nobody! Strategically-placed slits let the stars show off just a little somethin’ somethin’, and Heidi KlumEva Longoria and Rosario Dawson kept things sexy, yet sophisticated.

Legs For Days

The two-week-long fashion film festival had many a red carpet ruled by dresses that were slashed up to the thigh. Queen of Cannes, otherwise known as Blake Lively, did the split in Gucci (duh), but Adriana Lima and Arlenis Sosa really had a leg up–and all the way out.

Pleats, Please

Zoe Saldana and Marion Cotillard were both pleated perfection, but Alessandra Ambrosio seriously slayed in a Roberto Cavalli creation. SLAYED.

Single-Shoulder Shimmy

Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain gave the paparazzi the cold shoulder in easy, breezy, and very pretty windblown gowns. And how Swank was Hilary in Atelier Versace? Very.

Suited and Booted

Celebrities served very different ways to wear this borrowed-from-the-boys look. Lea Seydoux‘s powder blue Prada perfectly complimented her red locks. Berenice Bejo incorporated tux detailing into her velvet gown, but Coco Rocha did it best in Roberto Cavalli.

Tons of Texture

The sartorial choices weren’t all satiny and soft! Blake’s showstopping Chanel dress was stitched with all the sequins in the land, Cate Blanchett had a beautifully embellished Givenchy gown, and Marion Cotillard was a walking, talking kindergarten craft project in Mason Martin Margiela.
