Don’t underestimate a felon’s impact on the world while they’re behind bars. ‘Fine felon’ social media sensation Jeremy Meeks has been making waves this past week after Stockton Police Department shared his arguably handsome mugshot via Facebook. While women across the world are swooning over the felon, his wife isn’t too happy with all the media frenzy. Meek’s spouse and mother of his 3-year-old son is certainly not amused by the endless amounts of memes and social media attention he has received. One of his close friends Simone Johnson spoke to CBS 13 about how his spouse feels:
She’s furious. Her man is in there and people are taking it as a joke, thinking it’s funny talking about his looks, saying all kinds of crazy things.
Johnson also mentioned that she wouldn’t be surprised if Meeks’ wife doesn’t appear in court because she is afraid of the presence of the media. Another friend, Rajanique Davis, said Meeks’ loved ones are angry because strangers are making light of a serious situation. Meeks’ younger brother, Bryan Varela, told the outlet over the phone that Jeremy is a ‘changed man’ and that he has learned from his past mistakes. Public defender San Behar, along with a Stockton Police Department officer, are shocked at the worldwide attention Jeremy has received. Jeremy Meeks was arrested on weapons and gang charges.
