Weeks after being sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered by a federal judge to pay $1.9 million to the victims he’s been convicted of stealing from, things are looking up for Real Housewives Of Atlanta husband Apollo Nida.

According to TMZ, Apollo has agreed to enter a 500-hour “intense” drug treatment program at some point during his eight-year sentence. This information comes from court documents, which also revealed Nida was only accepted into the program because of a previous DUI on his record.

The site alleges that Nida’s motives for entering the program may not be so noble, however. They report that it’s likely the reality TV star hubby is hoping to catch a break after completing the program, as many inmates are often granted early release following their successful completion.

Apollo’s wife, Phaedra Parks, has yet to make a statement regarding the ruling. While this could simply be her dealing with her husband’s fate in private, it seems likely there may be another reason for the silence. Nida sat down for an interview during which he revealed he “doubts” his marriage will survive his prison sentence.

What do you think of Apollo’s rehab treatment amid his recent sentencing?
