When Jamaica, Queens and Kingston, Jamaica meet.

Hip-hop legend LL Cool J and Dancehall artist Mavado fuse their musical stylings and deliver that heat on the newest single off LL Cool J’s newest project G2, “The Hustler.”

The collaboration of these two very different artists is certainly unexpected. Although some critics may think rap veteran LL Cool J has lost his edge due to commercial success and age in the ever-evolving youth-obsessed music business, his lyrics here prove he’s still connected to his roots: “The streets are lethal, hold your head up, you’re still my people.”

Mavado’s signature “gully” voice and production by Grammy award-winning Jerry Wanda give the record an authentic, gritty sound.

Listen to “The Hustler” below, you won’t regret it.
