It was just too easy of a birthday wish for these people to pass up on, especially for this 6-year-old boy.

Daniel Nickerson of Foxboro, Mass., who was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma in October 2013, has only one thing on his wish list for his sixth birthday — cards — and he probably got a little more than he may have expected. So far, Nickerson has received over 8,000 cards from kind-hearted people all across the country.

The family has been keeping track of the hundreds of packages on its Facebook page “Danny’s Warriors.” Earlier this week, the family thanked everyone for all their support in making the little guy’s birthday wish come true.

“Todays total rough count was a little over 8500 cards and 900 packages!!! We filled the U-Haul completely up! And then filled 3 cars too!” the family posted on Facebook this week. “We are in awe of all of this, we are speechless and don’t have enough words to explain how thankful we are for everyone of you! And all the love that you have shown us and continue to show us!”

The family also shared pictures of the little warrior himself on piles of boxes filled with birthday cards:

Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma is a highly aggressive brain tumor found at the base of the brain that is often difficult to treat. Nickerson’s tumor is, in fact, inoperable.

But for now, little Daniel was able to have the best birthday he could ask for. #somanyfeels.
