A family fight is happening over two of television’s most iconic theme songs of all time. Royalties haven’t been collected since the 2008 death of Earle Hagen, the man who wrote the opening theme songs for “The Andy Griffith Show” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” BMI has the money and is willing to give it to the rightful survivor, who happens to be Hagen’s widow (second wife of 3 years), but his children are fighting to get the money instead.
