R&B singer Kelela releases an acoustic version of the song “Enemy” off her Cut 4 Me mixtape.
Kelela ditches the synthesizer and teams up with Nigerian guitarist Tosin Abasi, who accompanies her on the guitar. The new rendition of “Enemy” allows her flawless voice to soar, while the original record produced by duo Nguzunguzu overpowered the L.A.-based singer’s angelic voice.
The re-worked track sounds like a whole different record. Kelela’s debut mixtape Cut 4 Me was released last year, but if you haven’t heard it yet, take a listen here.
