Chris Rock‘s new film Top Five raked in a decent $7 million at the box office this weekend, coming in at number four, while Exodus won the top spot with a modest $24.5 million. Box Office Mojo calls Exodus a weak king, saying it’s not on par with other biblical movies released recently – doing nearly $20 million lower than Noah’s debut and roughly on par with the much-less-expensive Son of God.
Maybe this will teach director Ridley Scott to stop with all the cast whitewashing…

Speaking of movies, Mathew Knowles was shopping a Destiny’s Child-based biopic around – because you know his life is a movie.
TMZ reports:
Mathew Knowles reportedly reached out to Sony in December 2013 … offering the studio first dibs on a movie about the girl group — and execs seemed into the idea.
However it doesn’t look like they ever came to a deal. Lifetime is reportedly planning a D.C. movie next year, but unclear if Mathew’s behind that one.
