Anyone want to sign our petition to start referring to award season as Lupita Nyong’o season? We mean, it’s only right.
Last night at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Academy Award-winning actress swept us right away yet again, as if we were expecting anything else. She may not have won an award, but she does deserve another gold star for her A+ Elie Saab gown.
Lupita wasn’t the only one worthy of a best dressed nod, of course. Several celebs and trends struck gold on the red carpet, where for some—Jennifer Aniston, Amy Poehler, Maggie Gyllenhaal, just to name a few—cleavage was key. Some stars were sheer perfection in frocks with see-through elements of paneling, draping, or overlay. Emma Stone meant business in her menswear-inspired look, while Danielle Brooks was a blue beauty, and Sofia Vergara was smokin’ red hot.
White was a big color (foreshadowing for the blizzard that’s coming our way, perhaps), with Dasha Polanco, Paula Patton, and Viola Davis—and her beautiful head of natural hair—all taking part.
