Former Knicks forward Anthony Mason, 48, is in critical condition following a massive heart attack, reports Newsday.

Though the Knicks have made no official comment, the team, as well as some of Mason’s former teammates, has taken to social media to offer their support as Mason fights for his life, according to the site:

The Knicks… issued a tweet from their official Twitter account before Wednesday night’s game against the Magic. It read, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Anthony Mason and his family.”

Ex-Knick Mark Jackson also tweeted, “Praying for my former teammate Anthony Mason!!!”

Writer Peter Vecsey is credited with breaking the terrible news, saying that Mason suffered from congestive heart failure and underwent four surgeries.

Though he was a member of six teams, Mason’s glory days were with the Knicks, with whom he played from 1991-1996. He, Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing, and John Starks led the New York squad to the NBA Finals in 1994. He won the NBA’s Sixth Man Award in 1994-95 while playing for Pat Riley. Later in his career, Mason was reunited with Riley while playing for the Miami Heat, reports ESPN.
