By now, most of you have probably seen the video of a female student being slammed and tossed across a classroom by an officer in Spring Valley High School.

The disturbing video from the classroom went viral yesterday, which was the result of the student refusing to get off of her phone, and has led to the firing of Officer Ben Fields since then.

This morning on After The View, the hosts of the talk show discussed the footage, and Raven Symone caused even more controversy with her statements.

The host believes that the officer was in the wrong for his violent actions, but argued that the student should not have been on her phone in the first place.

She stated, “The girl was told multiple times to get off her phone. There was no reason for him to be doing this type of harm. It’s ridiculous, but at the same time you’ve got to follow the rules in school.”

Raven also dug deeper into the officer’s history with assault, revealing, “He was actually sued for false arrest, excessive force and battery in 2007 after a couple accused him of manhandling them,” she said. “He has a record and he’s still hired, but at the same time, get off your phone.”

Social media was none too happy with Raven’s comments, and immediately bashed her, leading to her trending on Twitter.
