Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams was poised as he delivered an inspiring eulogy that celebrated his late wife Ingrid Williams.

Ingrid was killed in a head-on collision after the driver of an SUV lost control of her car and swerved into her lane. The driver of the SUV, Susannah Donaldson, also died in the accident.

Monty remembered Ingrid at her funeral, last night, as a loving woman who would want him to stay strong.

“This is hard for my family, but this will work out. And my wife would punch me if I were to sit up here and whine about what is going on,” he said maintaining his composure. “That doesn’t take away the pain, but it will work out because God causes all things to work out. You just can’t quit; you can’t give in.”

Monty’s eulogy was religious scripture. “He loved me so much he gave me a wife who loved every part of me and she fit me perfectly.”

He ended his speech expressing forgiveness to the family of the driver who caused the accident, calling for prayers for their grieving family as well.

“Let us not forget that there were two people in this situation, and that family needs prayer as well,” Williams said. “And we have no ill will toward that family. That family didn’t wake up wanting to hurt my wife. Life is hard — it is very hard — and that was tough. But we hold no ill will toward the Donaldson family.”

A true class act.
