We were running some errands this past Presidents Day holiday when we past a lone protester in front of the Hollywood Carwash on Sunset Blvd. just between Vine and Gower. So of course we stopped to ask what was going on.
We were shocked to find 'Judy' a former civil rights protester standing alone to protest the deplorable treatment she received as a customer to the brothers, Benny and Nissan Pirian owned carwash.
Not only had they clearly damaged her car to which they refused repair, but they lied to officers who responded to Judy's call for help saying they had insurance (which they clearly DO-NOT)
While we were there talking with Judy, Benny Pirian and his brother Nissan called Hollywood PD in attempts to have Judy arrested (or at the least made to go away). We waited with Judy to be sure she was treated fairly by police (which she was, Thanks HPD)

Although according to Judy, she knew 'her rights' and her lone woman protest would not be stopped. I couldn't help but think that this could be my mother, or anyone's mother. Not only did Judy spend her holiday seeking justice, but she made the trip from her home in Santa Monica traveling by bus to Hollywood in search of justice for her misfortune at the hands of unscrupulous business owners.
To support Judy and her war for justice please 'LIKE' the Facebook page we have created for her in an effort to assist her along the way. JUSTICE 4 JUDY!!
Further investigation by HSK turned up a NY Times article outlining a felony indictment for systemic labor violations and have charged three men with 176 counts of worker abuse at four family-owned carwashes.A group of unscrupulous owners and a managers have created a work environment that borders on indentured servitude,” the city attorney, Rocky Delgadillo, said. “That is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Los Angeles.”
The complaint, filed in Superior Court, charges two brothers, Benny and Nissan Pirian, who own the four carwashes in the city and two others in Los Angeles County, with failing to pay $450,000 in wages over five years. They could face more than 80 years in jail and $136,000 in fines.
