The Suzuki Hayabusa Busabeats MC Battle 2010

I’ll admit that I don’t know a whole lot about motorcycles outside of what I’ve picked up from the few friends I have that ride, but I know a sick piece of machinery when I see one. With a top speed of nearly 200 mph, the Suzuki Hayabusa is the fastest production bike available to the general public. That being said, I’m gonna go ahead and assume that any serious rider wouldn’t mind havingone of these bad boys sitting in their garage.

Well, here’s your chance. After their hugely successful 2009 Busabeats campaign, Suzuki recently announced the launch of the 2010 Hayabusa Busabeats MC Battle. It’s all pretty simple: basically, to enter, you head over to busabeats.com and use their interactive recorder interface to record and upload a rhyme about the Suzuki Hayabusa bike. Once the track is uploaded, the Busabeats community will listen and vote for their favorite cut. At the end of the competition, the MC with the highest number of votes wins a brand new Hayabusa customized by renowned motorcycle designer Nick Anglada.

Just to give you an idea of the scope of this contest, during the 2009 competition, the top 5 songs racked up over 67,000 listens and received 37,000 votes. So you have to look at it like this: even if you don’t win, this is a great chance to get your name out there. The winner of last year’s competion, JPIGG (pictured above), an MC out of Northern Cali, not only received his custom bike, but is also currently on tour with International Motorcycle Shows and he appears on the TapouT Bikes and Beats stage at each IMS event.

In addition to the grand prize Hayabusa bike, Suzuki has partnered with Rockford Fosgate and Blue Mic to offer a variety of prizes for the 2nd through 5th place winners that will include 2-Way DJ loudspeakers, stands, punch plugs, an Under Pressure Bass CD and an assortment of stylized Blue Microphones.

Back in January, Complex hosted the unveiling party for the 2010 Hayabusa @ LevantEAST at the Hotel at Rivington in NYC, which was attended by DJ Vin Roc, DJ Neil Armstrong and DJ Ayres. Check out some pictures below.
