Rikers Island: The New Celebrity Hotspot

Before Kanye West made his way to Connecticut to support Lebron James’ move to the Miami Heat, the Chicago native took time out to visit Lil’ Wayne at Rikers Island. Kanye is not the first celebrity to pay Wayne a visit since he’s been away. In the four months that Wayne has spent in the New York prison, a number of famous faces have walked through the facility’s metal detectors, making Rikers Island the new celebrity hotspot.

Kanye, Fat Joe and Diddy are only a few of the celebs whom have made their way to down to the prison. It’s nice to see major players in the music industry showing Lil’ Wayne love as he serves his time, and all of the buzz has to be interesting for the prison staff.

At this point, the prison might as well invest in a red carpet for Weezy’s visitors.
