REACTION?

TRUE STORY....I had the craziest experience this weekend while at a house party/ birthday party in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They were basically playing a lot of Reggae and dancehall music that I've never heard of before. But I enjoyed the energy and the beats. Then the DJ instructed the crowd to "put dem lighters up". And then he played " I'll Be Missing You". And then the DJ did a whole Biggie Smalls set. That's when I realized how much Biggie affected the world with his music and how influential Hip Hop music really is. No one knew that the guy who played "D-Roc" in the movie was in the crowd or even cared. This was organic and sincere. It made me proud to be a Biggie fan and sad that he is no longer here.    WHY ARE YOU PROUD TO BE A BIGGIE FAN?

  • I'm a proud Biggie fan because listening to his music puts a smile on my face. I'm originally from Brooklyn, but now live in London, so when I hear his music it just reminds me of my old life back in BK
  • Dennis, sorry to burst your bubble, but "Biggie tributes" are very common in Jamaica, not because he's sooo internationally known, but, because he was in fact JAMAICAN!
The reason they didn't have a "Tupac tribute" wasn't because Tupac isn't internationally known, but, because Tupac wasn't Jamaican!

Next time run your story through your editor before posting. Goodluck with the "writing" career".
    • Actually, there was a Tupac tribute as well. Do you think that if Biggie's music wasn't as good as it is, they would still play a tribute? It's more than just being Jamaican. He was a great M.C.

Make sure you get the DVD. Out this week.
    • I beg to differ....

Make sure you check out "Gun Song" by Busy Signal ft. Biggie
  • I am proud to be a Biggie fan because of the energy that was given by him as an artist. His music was soooo tight and still remains hot to this day!
