Illest Blog: Interview With Gaby!

<p>For the past week or so I've been posting paintings of famous musicians, Kanye West, Pharrell, 50 Cent, and Run D.M.C. The painter of those pictures name is Gaby. He is a painter from Amsterdam. He began painting 2 years ago, and since then he's had nothing but good feedback. I've decided to interview this amazing painter myself and get to know him a bit more. So here it is, my interview with Gaby...<br /><br /><br /><br />Ill Will: So when did you decide to become a painter?<br /><br />Gaby: I only started 2 years ago. I woke up one morning a said to my girlfriend: "I'm going to be a painter" So I started and now 2 years later it's all I do. I'm in love with it. Check http://www.gabygabyart.com to see what I did in those 2 years.<br /><br /><br />Ill Will: Was there something or someone who inspired you to pursue art as a career?<br /><br />Gaby: Nope I was never into art I was never really in an art museum or galleries. I wanted to have a big challenge in my life and painting was a big one since I never draw or painted before. I sucked at it :)<br /><br /><br />Ill Will: Name one word to describe your art?<br /><br />Gaby: Other people came up with a name for my style... lot's of people call it "screaming urban pop art" I guess that is what it is then...<br /><br /><br />Ill Will: Is art a huge thing in Amsterdam?<br /><br />Gaby: Well there are many famous painters from Holland so there are many museums in Amsterdam so I guess it's a big thing. Totally different art from what I do but still art.<br /><br /><br />Ill Will: I'm actually from New York, and I loved the painting you did of NY. Is New York a place where you do your city mess collections?<br /><br />Gaby: Well City Mess is based on cities like New York all over the world but I must say that to me as an artist New York is the place where I get the most inspiration. I'm in love with that city. It has a cool vibe that I like to get into my paintings. For city mess it worked big time<br /><br /><br />Ill Will: What advice can you give to an aspiring artist?<br /><br />Gaby: I guess since I started 2 years ago and now it's all I do all people out there can do it. Just pick up art and do it in a way that it makes you happy. It will show in your work and as long as you do stuff you like nobody can take that away from you<br /><br />Ill Will: Here's the last question can you do a special painting for me that says Ill Will?<br /><br /><br />Gaby: LOl, I get the question a lot.
