REACTION?

Update: Wed: 11:12 I just got word that Shyne met with some of his family this morning though it's not clear who, but there were a lot of tears in the room. While Shyne is no longer being held in a jail cell, he's still held in a room waiting to deported. The family has been told that they should proceed as if he's going to be deported back to Belize. Shyne is currently being held by ICE (Immigration & Custom Enforcement) being prepped for deportation until they are told not to send him back to Belize. Let's hope some sort of last minute deal can get worked out. I will let y'all know of any developments I hear.

Update: So here is what I know so far, that family has been told to prepare for Shyne to be deported. They've reached out to Gov Patterson, but this issue is out of his hands because it's a federal issue so there isn't much he can do. He is trying to pull some strings but things are not looking good for Shyne Po. Let's pray for Shyne

_____

Update: 6:00 PM EST: I've just learned that Shyne has only learned of his pending deportation only 3 hours ago. This unfortunately set back is causing a lot of chaos and drama for a family who has been w/o Shyne for the last 10 years. The family has reached out to Gov. Patterson but word is and I quote "It does not look good". Developing

UPDATE: GG has just learned That Shyne will be deported by Friday and US Immigration & Customs have given his family 24 hours to see Shyne before he is sent back to Belize. The family is heading to see Shyne now was we speak 5:25pm EST Developing.

____________

It looks like Shyne's homecoming is on hold for the moment. The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez. But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn MC is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained. "Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined," the rep said in a message to MTV News.

  • Its funny how we all have something to say, but none of us makes sense. First of all we need to follow the white mans law, they dont care about how many years he served, or that he took the fall, or even that his family and fans are in distress.First of all Shyne has been in the US for many years, worked, paid tax's etc. but that really does not matter, if he was convicted of this so called crime then 9 years ago he should of been deported, instead the L A W treated him like an American Citizen and put him behind bars, and he served 8-1/2 years of his 10 year sentence. So if we must follow the what is to be the facts, there is no doubt that the Godfather of rap should have to spend one more day anywhere in our system. He should be allowed to walk free, now thats the L A W. Welcome home Po !!!!!
  • DiDDy what you gonna do to help Shyne? or you still looking for your stupid ring? you are foul and real soon you gonna realize be under Lucifer's wing wasnt the best move.....
    f*ck DIDDY we a weenie
    • Um what? How is it Diddy responsible for Moses shooting somebody in the face? I swear I can't understand why people continue to blame Sean for what Moses did, get a grip. Moses is a grown ass man, not Diddy's son, he did his time and now it's a wrap and he's subject to deportation just like every other non-US citizen who was a convicted felon after 9/11. This has nothing to do with race and it's pretty pathetic that some of you don't want anyone to be responsible for their own actions and instead want to blame someone else. Man/woman up and accept responsibility for what you do instead of being a child and looking for someone else to blame.

      Good luck Moses.
  • Can't say I feel sorry for Shyne, when one does dumb a** sh*t, then one has to pay for their actions. Prison time & deportation are just apart of the price. Shyne, Mike Vick,Plax,Remy Ma,Foxxy Brown,Da Brat,Lil Kim,Max B.& C-murder are not political prisoners or people wrongly convicted of crimes they are Celebs who did dumb a** sh*t. Leonard Peltier & Geronimo Pratt were & are political prisoners. William J. Mayo is a man who is right now sitting behind prison bars for a crime he did not commit. If anyone wants to know about REAL & TRUE innocence people in jail. Check out the innocence project website. http://www.innocenceproject.org/
  • I know a few people who have imegrated here, and when they commit a federal crime they are deprted right away, as soon as they are released. They did this to a friends husband. Hopefully they can find some way around this.
  • THIS IS A CROCK OF BULLSHIZZLE!! HE JUST SERVED ALL THAT TIME FOR THESE WHITE BASTARDS AND NOW THEY WANT TO DEPORT HIM!! THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE IF IT WAS ALL THAT IMPORTANT!
    • The justice system isnt just white people Jackass. do the crime serve the time and pay the consequences thats how it works in the world welcome to the planet.
    • He did serve his time, "jackass!" #FREESHYNE
    • lol this had nothing to do with white people, this had everything to do with DIDDY, who is indeed black, lol. not quite sure how we jumped to the white bastards comment so soon, i guess it's never too soon to pull the race card. i would hope that Diddy who is actually quite responsible for Shyne's arrival in jail would step up and do SOMETHING!! lol homeboy is litterally chillin somewhere while shyne goes through hell
    • Ok you are completely lost if you think Diddy has any pull with ICE/INS. Stop acting like Diddy is this all-powerful entity who can move mountains, get sentences commuted and reverse years old deportation laws. The US has been deporting people of all colors and races who committed felonies and weren't US citizens. You are completely delusional if you think Sean Combs has any governmental pull with ICE/INS. Moses will be just fine but enough with the irresponsible searching for a scapegoat mentality.
  • Belize or US his still human and "they" are f'ed up! I'm sure where ever he goes he'll be making music his "BOY" owes him these 9yrs he's lost...
  • wow that is totally crap in the justice system.... in trial they are suppose to determine if he does jail time? or just deport him? that is suppose to be a decision from the get go..... can't put someone in jail and serve time n then later announce that he is getting deported.. total contradiction...
  • this do not make any sense he just did all this time in jail to get deported. y would u not take him from jump instead of making this man think that he can come out and live a normal life here in america.
  • well shine got some catchin up to do on the music game!~oN mUsIc mOdE~
  • yO...I love Shyne and the way he is being treated in the media and elsewhere is SAD...I hope and pray that he can regain his Success as a rapper and get this $$$$$....love you Shyne!!!!!
  • This ICE situation is a result of 9-11,if you are an immigrant and you commit a felony,(especially one you serve time for.)upon release your case is reviewed for deportation. It happened to Bang Em Smurf as well. You mufafuckas can say peace to Poe cause he's outta here.
  • I've got a question for the officials who are deliberating over his right to be here in the United States.

They weren't questioning his right to be here when they held him for 10 years. If they were going to do this, they should have extradited him to serve his sentence in Belize.

ICE is bullsh*t. The only reason I can think why this might be good for him is that he could maybe use to spend some time with his dad in Belize.

But I don't necessarily think it's fair for them to do this after he spent all those years in prison like an American citizen for them to question his citizenship now.
    • American citizens don't get deported. He obviously never took the time to get his papers correct.
    • Just to piggy back on what NERD SWAG said.. ICE situation was enforced to a greater degree after 9-11 and the DHS may have changed the name but the US has always reserved the right to deport felons. However Balzac your argument is BS...countries all over the world do the same thing go to Saudi Arabia and commit a crime I guarantee they will keep your ass right there.. and why in the hell are ppl trippin over this. He should take his ass back to Belize ..he has proven he can't act right here in the US...
  • to begin with because you commit a felony it doe snot mean you are going to be deported. i did a bid, long at that matter for over 7 years and was deported. however i waited 5 years and came back to the US. I filed to fight my original deportation and 7 years after that I am here, having won a deferal of removal under the Convention against Torture. its like this, I'm bothered by people talking baout people having to make their kids US citizens. See it plays no part, if you have a felony your citizenship can be taken away. INS laws in the US are cruel and this very same thing happened to Slick Rick and he was able to get a pardon from the NY Gov. but it does nto need to go that far. INS lawyers in NY are some of the best and if he has that by his side he should be alright.
    • Luis Lucas, why are you saying the INS and the laws are not cruel? If you believe that you shouldn't have come back. What's cruel are the assholes who are here illegally and they get to suck up my tax dollars sitting their asses in jail or prison after committing a felony. Cruel is committing a crime and then crying when you get punished......it's also a punk move
    • @MeMe Yeah i guess you did not read my posting correctly i said that INS laws in the US ARE CRUEL!
  • Listening to "These Days" by: Nate Dogg. This song fits Shyne's situation to the tee. Youtube it.

Thank you for the music Shyne and breath baby,
  • Damn!! He should have known this was going to take place with him not being born in the US! He will be release though but I do believe he will be deported to Belize until he gets things sorted out!! Welcome home my dude!
