The snowstorm in the Midwest is now affecting football fans from around the country! The Minneapolis Metrodome was supposed to hold the NFL game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings, but due to its collapse the game has been postponed. The heavy snow that has hit Minnesota was just too much for the 64,000 seat stadium to handle. New York’s beloved Giants could not even land at Minneapolis airport and had to divert to Kansas City.
The Twin Cities received 17.1 inches of snow between Friday night and Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service. That’s almost a foot and a half of snow! The National Weather Service has also listed warnings for travelers regarding hazardous conditions, fierce winds, and subzero temperatures. This is one of the top five biggest storms to hit the Minneapolis area.
