Outside DJ AM's Apt: Is There Any Privacy Anymore?

On August 25th, in what would now be his last public communication, DJ AM wrote on his Twitter, "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

In DJ AM's last known interview posted on 8-26 he almost breaks down while talking about his home town Philly, PA

What has your connection to Philadelphia been since you moved from here?

AM: I have always stayed in touch with my sister who still lives there and I get back there at lease every 2 months just to take a walk and remember my childhood. I love that city. Damn, bout to start crying! I am a mush ball when it comes to Philly!

AM emailed his friend several months ago and disclosed that he was dealing with depression. AM believed it was a result of trying to stop taking pain medication since his tragic plane accident. Other reports state that AM was found laying on the floor shirtless next to prescription pill bottles and a pipe commonly used to smoke drugs when the medics arrived. Goldstein's publicist issued a statement saying, “Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.” Sadly in todays day and age, I'm not sure there is a such thing as privacy anymore.

Unfortunately you cannot turn it on and off like that. If you make your living in the public eye, you should expect ths type of behavior. I think that it shows a lack of class but those photogs are just doing their jobs. They have boss's and bills just like the rest of us.

- That's bull. People who do a job, whose job is being a celebrity, aren't obligated to accept being hounded day and night regardless of the circumstances. They can have a it both ways, fans and photographers just need to be respectful. If they can't be treated with respect it's because of people who have a mindset like yours, who feel that they own rights to someone's life and personal business because they buy an album or magazine.

Disrespectful are the paps and the bloggers. But what feeds their need? Those of us who want to know, want to see. Vicious circle so who is to blame?

I agree with this statement on invasion of privacy but, I gotta ask, BlogXilla & GlobalGrind if you find this an invasion of privacy why are you posting the pictures? I don't get it.

yea its invasion of privacy but i didnt see the story of this when they did it too MJ when he was alive or after he was murdered and did yall write a story on cnn,fox and msnbc bringing up MJ charges right after he died? nah didnt think so and when global grind gone write a story about ted kennedy drunk driving and killing that young girl when he was younger o i forgot the media not talking about it and neither are you.double standard i think so even for so called black media.

HE OPENED HIS LYFE TO US IN THE TIME HE WAS HERE ON EARTH NOW HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE SO PLEASE GIVE HIS FAMILY THERE MUCH NEEDED TIME SPACE AND PRICVACY ITS ONLY RITE .
