In 2004, there was rumored tension between Jay-Z, Beyonce and Free (Original co-host of BET's 106 & Park). Fast forward to 2009 and things have changed.
Free is presently Ed Lover's co-host on the New York City station Power 105.1 fm.
Jay-Z & Beyonce are now married and referred to as "The Carters".
I couldn't help but wonder if there was ever any "business" mixed with "pleasure".
BET released this statement in 2004
“There is no truth to the negative rumors or conjecture being reported about the private life or on-air status of Free. She has not resigned. Nothing has changed."
Jay-Z attempted to kill the rumors on "Trouble" ( Kingdom Come 2006) by saying:
"So I ain’t gon make a move unless I got a plan, B .That’ll happen the day I have a baby by Free . Not to say that anything is wrong with Free .Just to say that ain’t nothin’ wrong with me .If my hand’s in the cookie jar, know one thing, I’ma take the cookie, not leave my ring . If my hand’s in the cookie jar, know one thing, I’ma take…(laughs) ya’ll know what I mean"
Based on Twitter I'm not the only one who reminisced when I heard Jay-Z and Free on the radio. Here's what Free posted on her own Twitter page

Now take another look at Jay-Z and Free from this morning..
At first glance, it's safe to say Free gets a pass for no make up and rocking a low hat because its early in the morning but, isn't it ironic how nice her make-up and hair looks when Jay-Z was her guest? Not to mention she looks quite compfortable and refreshed. Hey, I'm just asking.
