The Power Generation Conference was held over the Labor Day weekend in Atlanta. The event was sponsored by the Collective Renaissance Guild whose mission is to "expose, promote and infuse arts, philanthropy and social responsibility into the cultural landscape of the Power Generation (formerly known as Gen X or the Hip Hop generation). The venue was a virtual marketplace of celebrity nonprofit organizations including Tameka Raymond's foundation The Lost Ones Foundation, The Ludacris Foundation, Tupac Shakur Foundation, Ryan Cameron Foundation, Andrew Young Foundation, Dallas Austin Foundation, and the list goes on., The event was a passing of the torch so to speak from the leaders of yesteryear to the Power Generation. The awards ceremony honored civil rights icon and former mayor of Atlanta Ambassador Andrew Young and Grammy Award winner Andre "3000" Benjamin.

Andrew Young addressed the audience and gave a moving, stirring short speech. He is truly a living legend. Andre 3000 was not present to accept his award, however he videotaped his acceptance. The star-studded event ended with a keynote address by rapper turned community activist, Killer Mike. Killer Mike is an extremely motivational speaker. Albeit, some may disagree with his strategies for economic empowerment but at least he kicks the door wide open for the discussion to begin.

Ok, that was the good part. Now here's a little dirt!! How about Frankie (Keisha Cole's mother) was running and jumping around in everyone's set and taking every photo opportunity she could find. And, if I lit a match next to her the place would have blown....you get the idea.
Also, how about Lil Wayne's baby mamas hung out together? That's right Nivea and Toya hung out together! Toya was with her fine azz man James Hardy. I definitely would like to know what his Buffalo Bill looks like!! "Lil Wayne who?" is what I heard herToya ask Nivea"!!!

Nivea and Toya (Nivea's nose looks like its a Lil boy!)

ROCK CITY - VI MASSIVE HOLD TIGHT!!! The totally talented St. Thomas duo R. City was also in the house and performed a short set. If you are unfamiliar with this group, get with the program. Their brand of music fuses hip hop with soca fused with dance hall fused with pop fused with mucho swagga and it is unparalleled. The duo has written and produced for anybody that's somebody in the music industry. So if you don't know, now you know! They spoke with me for a few moments regarding their performance. They promised to "bring the VI to Atlanta ..bringing the flags, bringing the rags". Most recently, the duo has been in the lab with The Game. I will be bringing you some more Rock City news so stay turned to RCS.
