**NEW MUSIC** Lloyd- 'Lay It Down'

'Lay It Down' is the first single from R&B crooner Lloyd's upcoming debut on Zone 4/Interscope King of Hearts. The single boasts production from Zone 4 head honcho Polow Da Don and samples the classic tune 'You Are Everything' from The Stylistics. 'Lay It Down' is a slightly new direction from Lloyd as he is taking a more loud and direct tone instead of his usual light, airy swooning soprano. The song actually sounds like it could have been written for a newer artist like Jeremih, with its inflections of auto-tune, and it sounds more like Lloyd is yelling rather than singing. This song has all the makings of being a very catchy commercial hit but in my opinion it isn't Lloyd's best. I'll be looking forward to his next single. King of Hearts is set to release in February 2011.
