TNT's Saturday Morning Special: Top 5 Tracks Of The Week (NEW MUSIC)

Posted March 5, 2011 by admin for Global Grind Staff

Good Saturday Morning world. Lets have a 'onetime' for everybody who ever had to scream on the Jehovah Witnesses for knocking on your door too damn early. At my door this morning was this older cat, who resembled Mummar Gaddafi, except he had on a nasty tight grey Sammy Davis suit with pamphlets in his hands. So as I slammed the door, before 'Good Morning...' could penetrate his lips. I thought you know, the real Gaddafi likes music. Yes he is an insane madman. A madman though, who likes GOOD music. No he's not Kanye's latest protege. But he digs the likes of Mariah, Beyonce, Usher, and 50. The bread he paid for performances from these artists is mind-blowing.

First up is a dope newcomer Dee-1 with '”t's My Turn.” This incredible MC hails from the N.O. but is nothing like his predecessors. The New Orleans hip hop scene is very diverse and as an artist Dee is somewhere between Weezy and Jay Electronica. Producer Rockaway serves up a southern fried beat thicker then Louisiana gumbo, that I'm sure had Dee hungry to spit when he heard it. Dee-1's flow is effortless as he politely tells hip hops mainstream to pull over and give him the lane. What's even more impressive is that the song is curse free and you don't even realize it. Music aficionados have been on Dee for a minute but this kid is destined for success. He's clean hip hop in a dirty and grimy music business.
