It’s been a crazy week in the political arena. From the Republican leadership completely stopping the progression of Gay Rights to President Obama getting owned by a frustrated American angry because this wasn’t the change she voted for. With FAILS of this magnitude all around, this is this week’s Political FAILS of the week.
Seems like nowadays the 2010 Republican Tea Party is all about NO, in what should have been a historical moment in the progression of Gay rights in America, turned into a rally of NO. On September 21, 2010 Senate Republicans shot down the efforts to repeal the law banning gays from serving openly in the military. Senators voted 56-43, failing to get the 60 votes needed to end a Republican filibuster and allow an actual vote on ending the ban. Sometimes we can’t believe we are living in America when something like this goes down.

Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, a key Republican who supported the repeal told reporters she was switching sides to vote against it. Collins, one of two Republicans that were for the repeal, was there best prospect to obtain the 60 votes. When she announced her decision against the bill on Tuesday morning she said,
“It’s the right thing to do. I think it’s only fair' to repeal don't ask, don't tell. 'But I cannot vote to proceed to this bill under a situation that’s going to shut down the debate and preclude Republican amendments. That, too, is not fair.'
WTF?!?! Did her statement make any sense? Just vote what you feel, you were for it and now just because it would cause a debate you switched? FAIL‘s all around, the G.O.P., Susan Collins, and the Republican senate.
