I'm a Survivor... The Celebrities Who Battled Breast Cancer

Posted September 30, 2010 by admin for Global Grind Staff

October 1st marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month and to spread the knowledge we want you to know that this is not just a women’s issue, this affects all of us in one way or another.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research for its cause, prevention and cure.

The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. As well as providing a platform for breast cancer awareness, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.

We all have mother, aunts, nieces and grandmothers and it’s important to realize that we can all lend a helping hand in some way. With an issue like this to spread awareness it’s always easy to get a celebrity behind the cause but it really hits closer to home when you see a celebrity afflicted with the disease.

It assures us that anyone whether rich or poor, black or white can be called into that doctor’s office and be given that terrible news. So to kick BCAM we would like to honor the women who kicked cancer right in the… Well, you know.
