Michelle Obama Gives Everything On Her 47th Birthday (PHOTOS)

First Lady Michelle Obama turns 47 today, but she got an early present Sunday when congregants at a D.C. church sang 'Happy Birthday.' It was a big surprise on Sunday when the first family entered the Metropolitan AME church and was greeted with a resounding rendition of Happy Birthday.

Today we celebrate and remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Michelle Obama and President Obama will take part in a community service project Monday to honor the 'life and legacy' of Martin Luther King Jr. 

On this day we are reminded of what President Obama said about Christina Taylor Greene at the memorial to honor the victims of the Arizona shooting. President Obama said, 'I want us to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as she imagined it. All of us - we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children's expectations.”

That message is what Michelle Obama achieves every day with America’s children. The first lady has been on a crusade to educate our children on proper nutrition, eating well and exercise through her 'Let’s Move' initiative and every day the first lady is doing her part to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations. Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. but also celebrate the first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.
