**GG EXCLUSIVE**

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong wars!   Killing each other is definitely played out. Being hurt from the lost of a love one was never cool.

Dear Young Warriors fighting the wrong war! I know that feeling, that frustration with life and needing to take it out on someone, any one. But....

We chose the dumbest things to go the hardest for.  I remember seeing deaths over 8 ball jackets, Fila sneakers, and name plate chains. Deaths over "he say, she say"!!!!! "I'm from this block or I'm from that block", or "my moms n pops is f*cked up now the whole world gotta pay"!!!

I remember feeling like I was the hardest "n*gga" breathing.  And I couldn't wait to prove it. But let's think. What are we really proving?? And proving what to who?? Everybody knows Chicago breeds the strongest of the strong but I just feel, me, being ya brother from another state feels your pain as if I grew up with you in ya very own household.

You have the ability and mindpower to change they way we are looked at.  Look who's watching us young warriors, look who's throwing us in jail constantly, look at the ignorance in the world. Look at the racist dogs who love to see us down. Loving to bury us in the ground or in jail where we continue this worthless war on one another.

Young warriors.... We are WASTING more and more time. We gotta get on our jobs and take over the world. Cuz this movie left the theaters years ago, Juice, Menace, Boys n the Hood , Blood n Blood Out, Belly!

When we see each other why do we see hatred? Why were we born in a storm, born soldiers, WARRIORS....and instead of building each other up we are at war with each other.. May the soul of this young person find peace with the almighty. I'm with you young warriors. You're me and I'm you. But trust me! you are fighting the wrong war.

This sh*t sucks !!

-Nas

  • I Thin That This Letter Should Really Teach These Kids That Fighting Does Really Help AnyThing. Really Is Beating Sum One Up Gonna Change The Fact That Somethin Happened. STOP DHA VIOLENCE
  • Big Ups Nasty Nas, I'm a Young Warrior too, who just lost a dear friend to gun fire and i'm still really hurt, those spoken words u wrote really help me.
  • Daniel Campos made a good point when he/she said that Nas does spit some hard lyrics about the dirty side of life in his music but I feel that is what is being done with any other rapper the upside to this is that Nas shows he understands thats how he gets fans attention. Then here comes the lesson. One of knowledge, insight, and of inspiration. In the song "I know I can" Nas spoke about Kush, Alexander the great and Egypt. At the same time he sent words of inspiration to both young men and women alike about the possibility of being whatever they wanted to be. Much props and respect to my fam NAS for that. In my opinion this is the issue, there are not enough role models or mentors or just your everyday older people who care. I mean I hear them all the time talk about kids with their pants sagging and the hip hop music and the cars with the rims. At the same time they just stepped out of their brand new Cadillac. In the barber shops they sit and discuss how they just had their car broken into by one of them "young thugs". When I walk through the hanger where I work and a older black man just looks the other way and ignores me as if I didnt exsit but will almost always break his neck to greet Masa' it hurts me, I gotta be honest. In a nutshell we need unity in our communities and without a father we will almost always fail. I was fortunate enough to have come across some good men in my life who helped guide me in the steps of becoming a man and loving my community enough to not contribute to its destruction.. peace Kings and Queens
  • its like the old adage, "divide and rule" as long as a group of people are divided they are easy to keep down... but when they come together to fight the forces that keep them down... then, and only then, are they impossible to keep down. in-fighting leads to short term personal gains, so its appealing when you are weighing your personal pros and cons... but the gains to be won from a common fight... well they are limitless. Civil rights would never have been won if people didnt come together, really it can be argued that it stopped there because the black population became divided and lost focus... its time to come back together and finish the fight.
  • I am a Chicago native myself, so I understand the struggles we go through, the things we are exposed to, the people we are influenced by, and the corrupted people in our government that we are controlled by. There are a lot of things that are against us as a people, a city, and a nation. However, times like this is when we need to refocus our minds and help ourselves. We need to learn to STOP depending on other people, places, and things to come SAVE us, but save ourselves. There are enough people and resources available to take back our communities. Stop looking for someone to tell you how, but go figure it out yourself. We waiting on Nas, Bush, Barack, and everyone else, but never once depended on our neighbors, the family around the corner, the people in our church, and the teachers at these schools. We are all held accountable for our own actions and we need to take responsibility and accountability for the state of our youth and community. I appreciate Nas speaking about the situation, but this is not the first time this has happened in Chicago, nor the only opportunity we have had to make changes. We as a people need to do what is necessary and stop relying on others. We need to become more united and committed to empowering our youth, community, and OUR PEOPLE. Once we start helping ourselves, then maybe others will pitch in, but if not the so be it. Again, I continue to pray for the families that are affected by this situation, and hopefully as a result change will take place.
  • It's true we have nobody else to blame for our toubles but ourselves. We have all the resourses availale to us and we have a great mind that the almighty has given to us.
  • People everywhere need to get their sh*t together. Instead of living by the pyramid we need to unite and rise together. We fail by divide and conquer. The world aint what it seems, almost all of us are slaves, our bullsh*t paper money is a system of enslavement and control. Think for yourselves, take time to think for yourselves and decide for yourselves. Dont do this sh*t coz Nas said, do it coz the principle is right.
We cant win by "their" methods, take a step back and look and see whats really going on.
Unite on good principles and rise up together.
  • Man this is true i mean imagine what we can accomplish with everyone being together i mean humans have done more than anyone would think we can do but the reason we wont succeed is because were fighting ourselves.
