This morning (Oct. 23) on The Morning Beat with Charlamagne the God in Philly, Chris Rockquestioned if he should keep doing comedy. Of course no one in their right mind wants that to happen, but it does seem that the famed actor/writer/producer/director has reasons to be pissed.

In this RadioPlanet.tv exclusive, Chris Rock goes in on AOL Black Voices and other media, and discusses some of the flack he’s been getting for his movie Black Hair. “Who wants any Black person to fail at something Black?

  • How could answer his Daughter's when he has a Perm or Should i call it a Temp ! Some Comics are very Stupid and Chris is ONE AO ! What about Good Teeth ! The Tony and Chris chewed Rocks Project ! Hee Haw
  • CHRIS ROCK IS VERY TALENTED, I'M AND ASPIRING BEAUTICIAN AND I KNOW THE LENGTH OF THINGS BLACK PEOPLE WILL DO TO GET THERE HAIR A CERTAIN WAY....THE MOVIE IS A GREAT IDEA...
  • Love you , Chris. You are such a talented actor and a mature man!

"It’s Crunch Time!”, is a new children’s book by Marie Brewer (www.helenbrewer.com for the

link to book) This is my book of muscle for boys (ages 9-12) to point them in the direction of HOPE!...This is an interactive book where they can write about their feelings. It discusses acceptable behavior, honesty, good self-image, respect for females and animals, appreciation for teachers/school, choosing good friends. The book also talks about resisting gangs, guns, drugs, violence, alcohol and bad influences. Let's attack the behavior, not the boy. "It's Crunch Time!" , by Marie Brewer, www.bbotw.com. Be a part of the village to help our boys envision their true God-given purpose!

We can turn this thing around! SEE! THINK ! ACT!

Heaven gives us hope! Marie Brewer

  • That's what i'm talking about...Relaxer don't equal good hair. Straight hair does not mean managable. Chris should do a documentary of all the real black women making the big chop and realizing how much they loooove their natural locks. YouTube is full black women giving positive images of natural black hair care. I did the BC three months ago and I am shocked at how fast it grows and my curls look amazing...for the record I ain't mixed aight....jus a black girl loving myself in a way I never thought I could.
  • Can't people take a joke? Why would anyone be offended,...unless they are not happy with themselves. THIS is WHY he made this documentary. He just decided to bring his Hilarious Comedy into it.And LOVE your stand up comedy. A list, your the best chris
  • I think all the ppl saying blacks were depicted bad need to get a grip, instead y are we not talking about something that is even bigger; the weave and relaxer industry is a billion dollar industry yet blacks own just few percent in that. y is it that we blacks let others take over everything we do then getmad at them. Lets be honest, u will rarily see a black person working in a chinese establishment, thats bc they only sell and give to their own. thats y ppl look at us and feel sorry bc we can't seem to get it together in any aspect (it seems). instead of ppl hating on chris we need to start looking at our self and see that it is time to change for the better. Yes other cultures wear weave and dye their hair but the profit is going to them so who cares.
  • Love Chris to death. See him every time he comes to Atlanta..People opposed to the movie must be ashamed of what they do to their hair;otherwise they wouldn't be this upset. Black people are more hard on other Black people than any other race--I will never understand it either...SMH
  • People, don't allow anyone to undermine your confidence about the way you look. We are all different and that is what makes us all beautiful. Aren't there more issues in life worth discussing than hair?
  • Well, I don't comprehend the sensitivity coating the emotions of black women from this movie. Hair is a protein filament that grows through the epidermis from follicles deep within the dermis.

Now, can we agree that this defining characteristic is found on ALL living human beings, as well as animals, some insects, and a few flowers? Or is the anger derived from the fact that African American hair is tightly coiled to prevent UV light from passing through our skin unlike our European counterparts?

No matter how you perceive it, people are all alike and different in various ways. We all have weaknesses and strengths, so no matter what texture your hair is...if it is unhealthy, it is bad hair and if it is healthy, then it is good.

Besides, my hair is EXTREMELY KINKY and my husband never had a problem rubbing his fingers through my sheep like coils. :-)

    "Lighten up people."
  • its sad how some black woman are as fake as there hair and thats why they are talking like they are i just wish they knew how bad a lot of the hair looks its sad
  • Like the man said you can't please everybody. I like Chris Rock's work, always have. The movie came about from his daughters misunderstanding that there is no such thing as good hair. In the DC Public School System we were taught this in Jr high, part of life skills. So, are you your hair? and do you like the person you see?
    • If it aint Kojak ! Good hair is Nappy Hair !

And by the Way My White Science Teacher Mr. Hanskill from Dugan Jr. High School told me that ! Falo calls per square

So of us just can't get out the 4th grade !

      THE MUCKRAKER REVISITED
  • Good Hair what about Good Teeth Hee Haw ! 1st Chris been Rocking a Perm or should i call it a Temp for some time now so to explain good hair to his daughter would be a Joke ! GOOD HAIR BY THE NATTY DREAD !
The Tony Chewed Rocks Project is Over thanks !
  • with the all scerecy we still know this movies was a hit but again the people who run really run this country the ones who own this country aren't gonna tell u that what's with the ignorance
  • Looool, this is just funny.

Black women going on & on about "Good Hair". HEELLA FUNNY.

The only people that movie seem to affect are those who saw themselves in it.

Im just going to echo what "kimmy" said, 'cas' thats all that needs to be said.

Chris, keep doing your thing, the film will most def. be a hit.
    • not all black women are having a problem with this movie. he brought up good points about where some of the hair comes from, other young girls being taken advantage of "in the name of God"; also all the money being spent in this industry yet mostly not black owned. I, for one, do my own hair, and it's all natural. A choice I decided to make before I even heard of this movie. I love my natural texture and the natural curl in it, and it's good hair because it's healthy and what God created.
  • Kudos, @ Kimmy. . I think it's very sad that people can find so many things to complain about. If you don't like Chris Rock's comedic banter then don't entertain it, don't watch it. It is a matter of his expression and it is mighty funny, and I truly believe there is a great deal of truth in it, and that honestly, is the problem people have when they watch it, they see their reality exposed and they become judgmental of his work and efforts- some women DO happen to pay ridiculous amounts of money on their hair, we all know this - so stop fronting and acting all shocked and surprised- some even put it on layaway, please some women are so addicted to weave they will buy a weave for hundreds of dollars and not have enough money for the week, but you can't tell them nothing cause they hair is done. Sad!, but true.
The point I am trying to make is, if you have a problem with Chris Rock and his comedy, don't entertain it, and keep it moving. . just that simple!
