I was only able to catch pieces of the award show but as far it goes it could have been much better is this what hip hop comes to now being second rate ..... I am true hip hop fan and the rap cypers was the best part of the show Krs 1 still one the best freestyle and as far Em goes what can you say he is without a doubt the best freestyle mc there is and I commend Ice cube on his work and appericate what he has done in hip-hop Jay-z made a comment last night men lie woman lie money dont which is true cause you dont have more money then cube. The strong stay quiet,, the weak cause riots...

I loved that they brought out Kid n Play, if my nails hadn't been wet i would've jumped up and started dancing! Ice cubes speach was good and so was Fatima's, both well spoken...hopefully the rappers took notes on how to speak in public!



I like alot of the current rap, i think it's fun and i listen to it for what it is. BUT no rapper should be able to get on stage and lack a performance! WTH..walking back and forth..really?? Gucci does sound like he needs to take a breathing treatment...but can you put on a show when you hit the stage or stay off??? I guess they didn't listen a couple years ago when Busta told them to BRING the PERFORMANCE!



I was really hoping for a good show, it was mediocre to me. I got bored with it after a while. We could have done without Mike Epps.



Oh and what the heck is up with Jim Jones, can we say axe body wash, shower, comb and brush maybe. And who the heck is letting him "mentor" their kids?

I missed the first half, but i did see the cypher with KRS-1 and then with Eminem. I thought the KRS-1 stuff was dope, but Em and them killed it. Apparently Atl has Gucci on their back, but he is mediocre for me. I like "Wasted", but the greatest rapper...he is not. Should not be on the list next to the list of the greatest rappers alive. Just my opinion, i'm not a hater, i just personally don't think he can stand with Weezy F., Jay and Eminem.

Was not happy with the way hip hop was represented at all at the show!! But the funniest part about the whole thing is Gucci Mane and Soulja Boi was in damn near every single performance!! Are those two really the current face of hip hop!!?? Ice Cube's speech was on point, I just hope those rappers got the message!! Eminem proved to that Bet audience why he had no business not being on MTV's hottest in the game list(Which is also a joke)!!



Plies fake ass Chain poppin off during his performance was pretty funny(Step your jeweler game up)!! Happy to see Luda back, Snoop's new song with the Dream was dope!! Nikki Minaj...Really don't impress me!! I'm pissed I was 2 min too late to see Kid and Play perform!! All and all there wasn't one performance that I can honestly say was dope!! The Cyphers was the only really good thing aobut the show!! Mike Epps was funny as hell though!!

Cube got an award, thats cool but when they honor other artists' life work on another show, they have tributes to pay homage.... guess hip hop 2 cool 4 that. Tha whole thing seem rushed. I enjoyed it but it coulda been better.

I f*cks wit Gucci but he perform too much, Wale performance woulda been cool without him. N!ggas need 2 step up their performance game.... Wale, Plies, Soulja boy n Luda had a lil stage presence but every other performer jus stood there. Speaking of Luda that new track is dope but prolly woulda been better wit Shawna.... Wut up wit that??? Tha Cyphers were cool,I like when cats go up there and really freestyle, shout out 2 KRS 1. Nikki sexy a$$ got flow, I jus wish she'd tone it down Lil Weezette, LMFAO. Eminem, J Budden, Mos Def and Black Thought killed it. There's a few cats that shoulda been.... 50..... n*gga promoting a album.... Wut up???

The best part of the show were the rap cyphers. I guess these award shows are targeted to a certain age demographic because my 26 year old ass did not enjoy seeing Gucci Mane on the stage every performance. Nobody had any stage presence and it was too ghetto for my taste. I just don't get it, all the money and star power BET has and the award shows look second rate. SMH

BET award did not do justice @ all. Especial when your honoring one of hip hops best(ICE CUBE). Performers like Jeezy (1 of my favorite rappers) look like he didn't even remember his raps he might as well just let Jay z rap by himself come on man. I think award show was a joke!

The show was horrible. They threw the most untaltend rappers on that stage to perform and did an awful job (Disregarding the vets). It was like a Gucci concert and god do I never wanna see that dude perform again. Eminem proved to me tonight that him and wayne are the 2 best living rappers in the game. Mod Def killed that sh*t too... other then that. Wasn't doing it for me

Mike Epps opened it up well. The cypher with Mos Def, Em, Black Thought,, cant forget KRS 1, what it needed. Errthing else was senseless. Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo, Dorrough, enough already. You can see it in the crowd response. Not hatin' but dang, no kind of positive energy, no kind of uplifting lyrics, just the same old played out garbage!
