CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Police have arrested 50-year-old Anthony Sowell, a convicted rapist who went missing after police discovered several bodies in a home Thursday evening while trying to serve a search warrant.
Authorities held a press conference Saturday at 11:45 a.m. asking the public to call and report missing persons. As of Saturday, police had found five bodies inside of Sowell's home and one in the backyard.
19 Action News has learned that a witness saw Sowell walking down Mount Auburn Street and called police, who made his arrest without incident in front of 9677 Mount Auburn.
Cleveland Police must now try to identify the six bodies that are decomposing in various stages. There is a command post at E.123rd and Soika to report missing people.
