New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, reportedly the White House's favored Empire State gubernatorial candidate for 2010, cautioned voters not to read the results of the special election in upstate New York as a judgment on President Obama, the New York Daily News reports. The Daily News: "'All these national pundits who want to say this is a national referendum on what President Obama has done, I think that's a lot of baloney,' Cuomo said. "'This is a very particular situation, it’s a particular district, a particular part of the state. I do think one of the factors is an anti-Albany anger that may be playing out, but I don't believe it's a referendum on President Obama.'"
