Ivan, and his site Hip Hop Is Read should already be in your RSS or at least get a click or two from you on the regular otherwise you miss out on rare gems like this – A complete sample set that makes up Rae’s classic opus Only Built for Cuban Linx Pt. 2. If you’re not a Hip Hop head you probably can’t fathom the amount of work that goes into such an undertaking, not only do you have the original records used to cook up the beats on arguably the best Hip Hop album release in 2009, but he went even further and got the audio clips from the Kung-Fu flicks used on the album. And to think, this is #150 for him.
I wanted to get as much content for it as possible; this meant having to watch 2 Champions of Shaolin (first time), The Killer and Shaolin vs. Lama (my second time for both) so I could snatch up all the necessary audio snippets. The result is a 34-track collage of the gumbo mix of Wu that is OB4CL Pt. II. Enjoy… and turn it up!!
Up and coming Producers/Beat Makers can learn a lot from this.
