On November 4, 2008, young Americans turned out to the polls in record numbers for candidates that promised to deliver on an overwhelmingly progressive mandate. With their votes, over 22 million 18-29 year olds propelled Barack Obama to the presidency and made headlines with an unprecedented demand for change on issues like health care, education, climate change, and gay rights. Young Americans made the commitment to be an active participant in reforming the nation by staying involved and holding their elected officials accountable.

  • I have 4 sons, one voted the other were to young.but i see a difference in the way they look at life.i see they have been even more encourage by having President Barack Obama in office.My boys like many other young children that may come from a single mom home are inpired to do what they can do and more.Presidents Barack Obama's public image its a postive rolle for our young men. and i see a change in my home with my boys.i do the necessary parenting to keep my boys in check on point and on the grind.But i do give The President and other top Africian American higher power people a standing ovation.God Bless
