As raged at FTTN.com…
“You Packer fans should be ashamed of yourselves. You know who you are. Not only is Packer Nation embarrassed by your classless booing of a man who won you an elusive Super Bowl & who always wanted to play in Green Bay, but you have let your selfish emotions get in the way of your better judgement in refusing to criticise Ted Thompson.
I watched the game at a Palm Springs bar and all of the fans there from other teams (Eagles, 49ers, Chargers, and more) couldn’t believe the lack of class displayed at Lambeau Field yesterday. I was approached many times by people asking me “what has happened in Green Bay?” There was a time when I was proud to call myself a Packer fan and did so with the understanding that we were the best fans in the league. We were knowledgeable fans who wouldn’t argue or fight and wouldn’t let management get away with failures upon failures.
Well along comes a man named Ted Thompson and my how quickly things have changed. Ted Thompson has split the once great Packer fans and turned them against each other. He has forced people to hate Favre so much that they are blinded to the fact that he isn’t a good GM. It’s a pretty clever plan and its working great so far for him. Only just now are people starting to wake up and realize that the Packers are no better now than they were when Thompson took over 5 years ago. The team continues to have dramatic talent gaps and is incapable to solve any lingering positional problems. Week in and week out we hear the same excuses but never do we get a sense of accountability in actions of upper management.
And its the fans fault. You hate Favre so much that you’re willing to look past our continuing offensive line woes and the inability for our team to generate wins against the NFLs better teams. You’re happy with being a team who has ‘potential’ rather than a team that wins ball games. You have made this about one man and have forgotten about the team. I have made this about the man who is responsible for the team, and that’s what makes me right. Someone built this team, I know who he is, and I want him gone.
You Packer fans who have forgotten that this game is about winning, disgust me. You Packer fans who have accepted mediocrity under the guise of potential make me ill. You Packer fans who boo the man who put this state back on the map should all shut your mouths once Thompson finally gets fired.
I don’t want to see any of you at Canton Ohio when Favre gets inducted into the Hall of Fame as a PACKER.
Fire Ted Thompson Now.” [FireTedThompsonNow.com]
STEVE-O: Can and will Ted and Mike survive the disgruntled, heart-broken fans of Lambeau? Are they slowly destroying the Green Bay Packers? Penalties, lack of discipline, and more sacks given up than any other team in the NFL lead many to think this team is headed for Lions-ville.
