Cheryl Cole was heavily-criticised for the bizarre fan-style dress she wore during the X Factor live shows at the weekend.

However R&B singer Beyonce gave it her seal of approval last night by donning a remarkably similar dress to collect her award for Best Song at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The 28-year-old looked stunning as she took to the stage in the dress which features metal piping snaking across the bodice.
